The Holy Spirit is the part of the Trinity that takes place in all Christians. The Trinity consists of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost). When Jesus left His disciples, He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to guide the disciples. In the book of Acts, on the day of Pentecost, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit on his apostles. That gave the apostles, and every Christian since then, the spirit of Jesus in their hearts. The Holy Spirit can act as a conscience and can protect Christians. Most importantly, the Holy Spirit deepens our relationship with Jesus and God.
