Showing your thankfulness is one of the top way to show your joy and faith in Jesus Christ. In all sorts of situations in life, you can still be gracious. Focus on the positive things in your life, and dwell on all of God’s blessings, promises, and covenants, and you will be thankful. From seeing a rainbow that indicates how God won’t flood the earth again, to thinking about your friends and family and all of their blessings, you yourself will feel joyful and thankful. Paul states in Philippians chapter 1, verses 3 to 4 that “I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in every prayer.” Paul wasn’t going through the easiest part of his life, but he managed to write a whole book about joy and thankfulness. Instead of thinking about himself, he thought about others and prayed joyfully for them. We often aren’t joyful whenever we pray to God. Sometimes we pray to him when we are in hard times, and other times we pray to him during good times. We, as Christians, could learn thankfulness and joy through the Bible and apply it to our prayer. Even if we aren’t in the best mood, or aren’t particularly enjoying the day and what it brings about, we can still thank God and be joyful for what he has done for us and for others.
