Hope is a subject covered many times in the Bible, in a variety of ways. As Christians, Jesus is our hope, and the reason why we can persevere through tough circumstances. Through prayer, and application of the Bible, our hope can be fulfilled. Hope is one of the most important parts of Christian life, and it is one of the fruits of the spirit. It is with our growing confidence in the Lord and Jesus that our hope also increases.

Here are some Bible verses on the subject:

Jeremiah 17:17 – “Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.”

Lamentations 3:26 – “It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”

Acts 2:26 – “Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:”

Romans 8:24 – 8:25 – “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

Romans 12:12 – “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”

Romans 15:4 – “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

1 Corinthians 13:13 – “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”

Galatians 5:5 – “For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”

1 Thessalonians 5:8 – “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”

2 Thessalonians 2:16 – “Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,”

1 John 3:3 – “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
